DEAD, OR ALIVE?
Could there be a better illustration of the struggle between life and death than the desert? The word itself is synonymous with
absence, absence of every life. Yet, life there was, as evidenced by the fossils to be found there. And life, despite appearances, still is there:
a few meager plants, some shelters, abandoned or not, some footprints, animals, vehicles.. Locals and tourists are not far...
The advance of the desert seems inexorable. The few attempts to fight its progress seem insignificant, but have the merit to exist. Would believing hard enough, and throwing in all our energy be sufficient to have life resuming its rights there?
